Anyway, I think cis women who like see trans women as sisters have a certain obligation on this site to actively counter terf recruiting. Because I regularly see terfs actively recruit teenagers and young adults into their ideology (a strategically smart move if you want your otherwise dying brand of hate to stay relevant into the future). Cis allies, especially our radfem allies need to be actively countering that. Trans women, especialyl trans dykes like myself can’t do anything to counter it because they kids they go after already a priori assume we have subhuman status. It can literally only be actively fought by cis women.
This is especially important to keep in mind when you realize that terfs often target non-white teenagers and young adults for recruiting as well, especially those who have suffered misogynistic abuse at the hands of their family or community at large. Speaking from my own experience, one thing I’ve seen a lot of on this website are teenagers, particularly from South Asian backgrounds, who identify as such, including and up to regurgitating the same sorts of imperialistic/racist talking points that terfs often fall back on. It’s egregious because it’s so obvious that terfs are exploiting the very real, often very valid anger that these young people have about their situation and their life and using it for their own ends.
