Nyle DiMarco & Chella Man Teach Us Queer Sign Language

I hate when they use “queer” to refer to anything lgbt because of how much of a slur it still is and most lgbt people from my experience find it very offensive, including myself.

Queer has always been and will continue to be an identifier for many LGBT+ individuals. There is no separating “queer” from the community. Attempting to do so erases our history and the queer identifying forefigures who literally fought and died so that we could do more than have petty discussions about how we name our identities on blogging platforms. It’s a huge offense and downright insult to imply queerness has no place with the rest of our identities. You may not like it, you may not use it, but the reclamation of queer is something that coincides with our fight for rights and our fight to be seen as human beings.

This queer post made it past 50k queer notes without a comment about the inclusion of queer, but “most” people have an issue with it? I dunno, I’m queer and can’t do math but that seems a little off to me.
