the queen could literally intervene and stop british children from being so malnourished that there has been a widespread return of rickets in the country but she won’t. kate and baldy could do something about this instead of going to various ex-colonies of britain and lecturing locals about the dangers of having too many children whilst they are expecting their third inbred freeloader but they won’t. megan markle and ginger are going on a £120,000 honeymoon. whilst children forced into poverty by the tories fill their pockets with food at school just to get through the weekend. the lifestyle and entitlement of the royal family remains absolutely and completely morally indefensible.
WIGGLY TOOTHLESS!! {x}
Best quality: his wiggles
I, a lover of these movies, am incapable of scrolling past this without sharing Toothless and his happy wiggles.
I was looking at the meta-analysis you posted about pregnancy and it is as you say. The researchers admit in the “result” section of the abstract that there really was no statistical difference when it came to health, but then contradict their own evidence in the conclusion by saying pregnant people can “improve outcomes” by reducing weight by diet. Do you find that it is normal for scientist in this field to ignore their own research?
It is absolutely the norm for weight scientists to conclude every single publication, no matter the topic, no matter the results, with a firm assertion that fat people should lose weight. It is infuriating.
This is a hall of fame ask lmao
It’s SO standard for scientific and journalistic articles to do this that I’ve developed a kind of game where I’m like “okay boys what’s the kicker??” and try to figure out how/when in the article (usually the conclusion) they will say “we’re shocked & baffled by this data which clearly showed that you can [weigh what you weigh, eat a thing] and be healthy. So what you should really take from this is our Scientific advice to lose weight and restrict your diet!” Like are these authors okay??
When I am feeling charitable, I remind myself of the gauntlet of judgement that researchers must pass through to publish. And how most high profile weight scientists are funded by the weight loss industry, and as editors and reviewers, they will *insist* that researchers include these kinds of statements in their papers if they want to get published. I know a few researchers who have faced this pressure, which puts them in an awful bind. THEY know they have important results that need to be published if the dominant, unscientific attitudes about weight and health are ever going to be over-turned. But the price of publication is high: you have to sell a little bit of your integrity.
But yanno, those ones are by far the minority. The rest just cannot see the contradiction. Anti-fat bias is so ingrained in our culture, it easily goes unexamined.
And that is why it is naive to claim that science is objective, unbiased, pure. It is no. such. damn. thing.
My mom sent this to me and i’m howling

‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
I had no idea there were transgender Pikachus. XD
Reblog if u love and support her!
what? 😮 explain pls i dont watch pokemon
Pokemon have physical differences between male and female. Pikachu is far less subtle in its gender differences. Females have a heart shape tip to their tail, while males have that v shape.
Anyway here’s trans Pikachu.
Reblog to support trans Pikachu and how happy she is about her new gender-affirming tail
Wonder how fast we could crowdfund it.
Didn’t they arrest him?
oh man. he dead…
His name is Edward Crawford.
For real tho. He was hands down murdered by the police. A lot of notable figures from Ferguson were found dead in the same manner and police labeled them all suicides which ,as we all know, is complete and utter bullshit.
If we could get statues of anyone it really is Edward Crawford. If I can get in contact with a sculptor or some shit with permission from Crawford’s family I will set up the Fund Page in a heart beat.
Omg he died!?!
Like they said, Edward died in a suspicious manner similar to several other notable protestors officially ruled a suicide and here’s some links:
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/ferguson-protester-edward-crawford-subject-iconic-photo-found-dead-n755401
http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/05/us/ferguson-iconic-photo-death-trnd/index.htmlThe podcast Criminal did a really great interview with him right before his death in which he talked about his harassment by the police http://thisiscriminal.com/episode-32-it-looked-like-fire-12-11-2015/
Oh my god that’s heartbreaking, I don’t think I even heard about his death. Or if I did it was drowned out by all the other murders by the police. God this is heartbreaking. That photo of him made me cry when I first saw it, it was so moving. Rest In Power, Edward Crawford.
The hilarious thing about watching people talk about their experiences with pokemon go is that I just keep remembering all the edgy ‘realistic’ pokemon reinterpretations that used to go around, and how ‘no the pokemon world would be SO DARK you guys’.
And now there are people going around IRL catching pokemon and they’re just like ‘I WENT OUT AND MADE TWENTY NEW FRIENDS AND FOUND AN EEVEE AND EEVEE IS ALSO MY FRIEND!!!’
So it seems the pokemon setting actually was pretty damn accurate.
I was just at a park by a lake with crowds of people as thick as if there was a fair, all playing Pokemon Go. People rode by on bikes, trying to hatch eggs (one was playing the bicycle theme song on a speaker). The only thing people talked about was Pokemon.
It looked and sounded exactly like I was actually walking down a Route in a Pokemon game. The whole thing was completely surreal.
Pokémon Go, the summer of 2016, was the last pure moment in the world & I miss it
So you said queer history didn’t start with Stonewall, which is not even surprising at all. However, that’s all I’ve ever been told, so I don’t know anything about the time before Stonewall. Do you have a tag, a masterpost, or some articles or something for me to read so I can learn about queer history before Stonewall? And I’m sorry if this comes off as rude or anything; I just genuinely want to learn the untold history of the community I’m a part of. Thanks 😊
First, thank you for coming to us, you didn’t come off as rude at all.
Well, we don’t have a tag or masterpost, but I can create a list of articles we have up at this point (May 14, 2018) that focuses on queer subjects from before Stonewall.
